A New Beginning
Have you ever noticed that the sky is the nicest right after it rains? The dark clouds fade to wisps of white and the sun starts to pour out its rays again. The sky becomes crystal clear and turns to a deep refreshing shade of blue that comes only after the rain. So maybe it's the same after life's storms.
I always felt that rain was somehow God's way of releasing tears. Especially when I've done things to hurt Him... I would think that it was God crying out of sadness and pain. But it rained the past 2 nights around 3am as I laid awake on my bed with a heavy heart, trying to sleep. If God cried the rain then, it wasn't because He was crying because of me or for me. I could feel distinctly that He was crying with me.
I've sorely misjudged God's character. He isn't an authoritarian that removes free will and punishes us every time we step out of line. Neither is God a user of people that He only keeps us around till we run out of value to Him. He is a Father Whose love for us is everlasting. God's love for me I won't understand completely now, but I know it's something that I'll be learning even till I meet Him in heaven one day. His love is amazing!
So whatever storms may weather this weary soul of mine, and whatever hurts I may have gathered, it's time to see the crystal blue sky again and to bask in His light. If God brought me to it, He will surely bring me through it. :)
here i am
Praise the LORD.
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
praise him with tambourine and dancing,
praise him with the strings and flute,
praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.
(Psa 150:1-6)
this is me
Christ's life showed me how, and enabled me to do it. I identified myself completely with him. Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not "mine," but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Gal 2:20 MSG)
