This Is For You
To my dear brothers and sisters who may be moving on to another phase of life: If there was anything I could do to make you stay, tell me, and I will do it. I can't possibly describe all the joy that you have brought to my life. Your smiles, your actions, your words, your insights and you just being here, spending time and sharing your life with me.
Words can't begin to tell of the emotions in my heart. It feels as if you have been stolen from me. I wished that I had done more, got to know you better, spent more time with you, prayed with you more, encouraged you more, tell you how much a blessing you have been to me... Why didn't I? I have only myself to blame. I guess I may never again get to do those things...
Why are men so selfish and shortsighted? Did they really think that such actions will not have consequences? Could they have thought that their decision was one of necessity and without repercussions? They couldn't have been more wrong! My heart is broken...
But, no, my dearest siblings. You mustn't give up! You mustn't give in! Because all things work for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose! If you gave up, they would have won. Never mind that there are others with less faith and less courage than you. The Lord Himself will go before You and behind you and the gates of hell will never prevail against you! You must keep walking with Him... You must keep on going...
I Know Who Holds Tomorrow
(Words and music by Ira Stanphill)
Verse 1:
I don't know about tomorrow,
I just live from day to day.
I don't borrow from it's sunshine,
For it's skies may turn to gray.
I don't worry o'er the future,
For I know what Jesus said,
And today I'll walk beside Him,
For He knows what is ahead.
Chorus:
Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.
Verse 2:
Ev'ry step is getting brighter,
As the golden stairs I climb;
Ev'ry burden's getting lighter;
Ev'ry cloud is silver lined.
There the sun is always shining,
There no tear will dim the eyes,
At the ending of the rainbow,
Where the mountains touch the sky.
Verse 3:
I don't know about tomorrow,
It may bring me poverty;
But the One Who feeds the sparrow,
Is the One Who stands by me.
And the path that be my portion,
May be through the flame or flood,
But His presence goes before me,
And I'm covered with His blood.
here i am
Praise the LORD.
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
praise him with tambourine and dancing,
praise him with the strings and flute,
praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.
(Psa 150:1-6)
this is me
Christ's life showed me how, and enabled me to do it. I identified myself completely with him. Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not "mine," but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Gal 2:20 MSG)
